Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care in the oncology specialty; assist physicians in treatment and procedures; support patient education and care planning; complete related clinical paperwork; communicate with patients, families, visitors, and staff in a compassionate, professional manner while upholding Mercy's care philosophy and values; maintain readiness to respond in emergency situations and operate clinic equipment as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- Current valid state nursing license
- CPR certification or obtain within 90 days of employment
- Skill in assisting and performing a variety of medical treatments and procedures
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
- Communication skills to establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, staff and the public
- Basic computer terminal and keyboard skills to access information and enter clinical data
