Job Summary
Oversee multiple nursing neighborhoods and act as a resource for administrative programs, policies, and physician collaboration. Analyze problems, offer recommendations, and investigate unusual incidents while ensuring appropriate follow-up and corrective actions. Manage infection prevention and control programs, including establishing facility-wide systems, leading the prevention committee, and providing education to staff and families. Assess staffing requirements, evaluate and discipline staff as needed, and conduct impromptu rounds to assess resident care and maintain clean work areas. Coordinate restorative nursing programs, monitor restraint reduction efforts, and complete assigned MDS sections. Handle weekend on-call duties for staffing, incident reporting, and troubleshooting issues.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing
- Current RN license in the state you will be working
- Completed specialized training in infection prevention and control through accredited continuing education
- Three to four years of recent nursing experience during which administrative and supervisory competency has been demonstrated
- Communication, organization, and planning skills required
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Ability to lift heavy objects using proper lifting techniques and with assistance when necessary
- Ability to transfer and move residents who vary with ability to assist weighing 200+lbs using proper lifting techniques and with assistance when necessary
- Ability to push and pull equipment weighing in excess of 40lbs using proper techniques and with assistance when necessary
- Manual dexterity, coordination, and skillful use of hands when working with residents and equipment
- Ability to perform necessary documentation
- Visual acuity
- Must be able to manage a diversity of activities
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor‘s degree in nursing or equivalent preferred
- One year management experience preferred
