Job Summary

Manage multiple nursing neighborhoods and serve as a resource for administrative programs, policies, and physician collaboration. Investigate unusual incidents, conduct root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions while maintaining incident logs. Oversee infection prevention and control programs, including antibiotic stewardship, and lead the facility's Infection and Prevention Control Committee. Assess staffing requirements, evaluate staff performance, and provide counseling and guidance. Serve as a liaison between the lab, pharmacy, and nursing staff to coordinate admissions and bed assignments. Perform impromptu rounds to assess resident care, ensure work areas are clean, and monitor restorative nursing programs. Complete MDS sections, track Worker's Compensation therapies, and participate in care plan meetings. Maintain records for restraint reduction and facility-wide systems for disease prevention. Weekend on-call duties include staffing, incident reporting, and troubleshooting issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing
  • Current RN license in the state you will be working
  • Completed specialized training in infection prevention and control through accredited continuing education
  • Three to four years of recent nursing experience during which administrative and supervisory competency has been demonstrated
  • Communication, organization, and planning skills required
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift heavy objects using proper lifting techniques and with assistance when necessary
  • Ability to transfer and move residents who vary with ability to assist weighing 200+lbs using proper lifting techniques and with assistance when necessary
  • Ability to push and pull equipment weighing in excess of 40lbs using proper techniques and with assistance when necessary
  • Manual dexterity, coordination, and skillful use of hands when working with residents and equipment
  • Ability to perform necessary documentation
  • Visual acuity
  • Must be able to manage a diversity of activities

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor‘s degree in nursing or equivalent preferred
  • One year management experience preferred
