Job Summary

Provide management oversight for multiple nursing neighborhoods and assist the Director of Nursing on administrative programs, policies, and changes. Analyze problems, offer recommendations, and investigate unusual situations or incidents, including initiating anecdotes and contacting staff at home or agencies. Identify resident concerns, make nursing inquiries for new admissions and re-admits, and collaborate on bed assignments. Conduct impromptu rounds to assess care, maintain clean work areas, and monitor employees on Worker's Compensation or therapies. Oversee the facility's infection prevention and control program, antibiotic stewardship, and restorative nursing program, while leading the Infection and Prevention Control Committee. Complete assigned MDS sections, maintain restorative and restraint reduction records, and ensure public health notification for reportable diseases. Weekend on-call duties include staffing, incident reporting, and troubleshooting issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing
  • Current RN license in the state you will be working
  • Completed specialized training in infection prevention and control through accredited continuing education
  • Three to four years of recent nursing experience during which administrative and supervisory competency has been demonstrated
  • Communication, organization, and planning skills required
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to lift heavy objects using proper lifting techniques and with assistance when necessary
  • Ability to transfer and move residents who vary with ability to assist weighing 200+lbs using proper lifting techniques and with assistance when necessary
  • Ability to push and pull equipment weighing in excess of 40lbs using proper techniques and with assistance when necessary
  • Manual dexterity, coordination, and skillful use of hands when working with residents and equipment
  • Ability to perform necessary documentation
  • Visual acuity
  • Must be able to manage a diversity of activities

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor‘s degree in nursing or equivalent preferred
  • One year management experience preferred
