Job Summary
Provide high-quality nursing care to residents in a skilled nursing facility by performing comprehensive assessments, developing individualized care plans, and administering medications and IV therapy. Monitor residents for condition changes, document all care accurately in the EMR, and coordinate with physicians, therapists, and other team members to ensure safety and quality of life. Supervise LPNs and CNAs, respond to medical emergencies, and educate residents and families on diagnoses and discharge planning while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality. Work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays with on-call shifts in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, and pull throughout the workday
- Ability to lift or assist with lifting up to 50 pounds, with assistance when appropriate
- Ability to respond quickly to resident emergencies
- Frequent reaching, stooping, kneeling, and transferring residents using proper body mechanics and equipment
- May work days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as assigned
- Exposure to infectious diseases and bodily fluids; appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided and required
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, or acute care preferred
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and long-term care regulations is preferred
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR/EMR) preferred
