RN Shift Coordinator Days LTC Annie Penn Nursing Center

The Nurse Shift Coordinator is responsible for managing operational issues related to patient care in a long-term care setting. Acts as a clinical resource and reports changes in resident condition to the next shift coordinator. Collaborates with nursing leadership to accomplish department objectives and leads staff education sessions when directed. Provides direct patient care in select situations and represents the nursing administration and facility administration in their absence to ensure continuity of care and high service standards. Works with social services to accommodate admissions and transfers, floats staff between units, and investigates patient, family, physician, and staff concerns. May mentor junior staff and assist with staff development, maintaining Cone Health values of integrity, outstanding service, innovation, caring, and financial viability.
