RN - Same Day Surgery

Conduct comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care for patients undergoing outpatient surgical procedures across the perioperative continuum, including preoperative, PACU, and discharge phases. Execute nursing interventions by collaborating with the interprofessional team, evaluate patient responses to care plans, and adjust protocols as needed. Monitor patients while awaking from anesthesia, review test results, and initiate/monitor IV infusions. Provide patient education, document assessments and interventions in the electronic medical record, and assume accountability for managing individual patient care. Serve as a mentor, preceptor, and resource to others while assisting with care coordination across inpatient, outpatient, and ambulatory settings. Perform minor departmental cleaning, stock rooms, handle patient follow-up phone calls, and check patient charges. Work independently within scope of practice to achieve appropriate clinical outcomes in a fast-paced ambulatory surgical environment.
