Job Summary
Assess and admit patients in the Same Day Surgery area using the EMR, verifying all necessary information including H&P, MD orders, labs, EKGs, and x-rays. Maintain certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS while administering medications and IV fluids based on clinical conditions. Communicate with surgeons, OR staff, and anesthesia regarding deviations from normal protocols. Inform customers of wait times and participate in "Safe Site" patient ID checks. Report safety hazards, accidents, and incidents promptly. Work Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts between 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Minnesota
- Successful completion of a criminal background check as required by the State of Minnesota
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- PALS
