Job Summary
Provide holistic nursing care to incarcerated patients by developing, implementing, and revising individualized treatment plans while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. Document subjective and objective health information, laboratory results, and EKG data to monitor patient needs, and administer ordered medications with full accountability for controlled substances. Evaluate treatment outcomes, lead patient education activities, and coordinate closely with security staff to maintain safety and confidentiality. Maintain professional boundaries, adhere to strict facility policies and federal regulations, and participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives. This role requires a valid RN license, current tuberculosis documentation, active CPR certification, and experience in a correctional environment.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in applicable state
- Current tuberculosis documentation
- Active CPR certification
- Ability to pass background investigation and obtain agency security clearance where applicable
- Prior experience providing nursing care and working with a high degree of autonomy
- Must possess general good health and retain sufficient stamina, agility, and visual and auditory acuity necessary to perform all duties required
- Must be able to lift, carry, or push weight up to 40 pounds
- Must be able to respond quickly to emergency situations within his/her scope of practice
- Must be able to pass background investigation and obtain agency security clearance where applicable
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with direct care in correctional environment preferred
