Job Summary
Manage day-to-day departmental flow and staffing for the Surgical Services outpatient clinic, developing and adjusting nursing and medical assistant assignments. Monitor triage activity, perform daily medication and needle audits, and review culture logs. Escalate building, departmental, and clinical issues to the appropriate manager while communicating new workflows. Complete code cart checks, fridge/freezer temperature logs, and supply reviews. Place yourself in the clinical role as a staff nurse, conducting warm hand-offs to the evening charge nurse and notifying labs regarding patient clearance. Work day shifts Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5 PM.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- 1-2 years experience
- RN - Registered Nurse
- BLS – Basic Life Support
- Knowledgeable in the workflows and policies at South Shore Medical Center
- Demonstrated flexibility, positive outlook, and problem-solving abilities
- Demonstrated ability to lead clinical staff, provide resources, and manage schedule assignment changes
- BLS Certification - American Heart Association (AHA)
- RN-Registered Nurse - Board of Registration in Nursing (Massachusetts)
