Job Summary
Administer medications within scope and assess, evaluate, and document patients' physical and mental status. Establish rapport to identify care requirements, promote independence through education on conditions and self-care, and teach significant others to understand medications. Adhere to therapeutic standards by measuring health outcomes against goals and recommending necessary adjustments. Maintain a safe environment by complying with protocols, protecting patient and employee safety, and keeping information confidential in the electronic medical record. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, maintain inventories, and complete annual competency education. Contribute to team effort by measuring results against Press Ganey, AIDET, and Model of Care standards.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Registered Nurse
- College Diploma Nursing
- 2 years RN Experience
- Certified Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation
- BLS
- ACLS
- MED SURG AREAS
- Thorough knowledge of a variety of medical equipment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Critical thinking skills
- Ability to administer medications per policy and procedure
- Ability to follow the National Patient Safety Goals
- Ability to interpret lab and diagnostic results as it relates to patients status
- Ability to communicate with all disciplines using SBAR
- Ability to multi-task
