Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols. Implement and monitor patient care plans while assessing, coordinating discharge planning, and communicating patient conditions to the healthcare team. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders, manage IVs and medications, and perform wound care. Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care. Analyze lab values and interpret rhythms to detect medical or cardiovascular issues, providing patient and family education to prevent emergent situations. Work on a 6North private, 18-bed telemetry unit within UAB St. Vincent's East, with shifts available full-time days (7:00 am - 7:00 pm) or nights (7:00 pm - 7:00 am).
Required Qualifications
- Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted BLS certification
