Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care for post-operative and critically ill surgical patients in the 14-bed SICU, implementing and monitoring care plans while coordinating with the Central Monitoring Unit for continuous cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring. Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care, assess discharge planning needs, and communicate patient conditions to the healthcare team. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders in accordance with established policies and protocols. This role offers multiple shift options including full-time days with 3 twelve-hour shifts from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm at UAB St. Vincent's East.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing
- Required professional licensure at time of hire
