RN - Registered Nurse - Surgical Intensive Care Unit - Multiple Shifts

Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols for post-operative and critically ill surgical patients in the 14-bed SICU. Implement and monitor patient care plans while assessing and coordinating discharge planning needs with the healthcare team. Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care, noting and carrying out physician and nursing orders. Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions as appropriate, supported by continuous cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring from the Central Monitoring Unit. Full-time days, 3 12-hour shifts (7:00 am - 7:00 pm) available at UAB St. Vincent's East.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing
- Required professional licensure at time of hire
