Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care for post-operative bariatric patients, including gastric bypass and sleeve gastrectomy cases, while implementing and monitoring individual care plans. Coordinate all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care, carry out physician and nursing orders, and assess discharge planning needs with the healthcare team. Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions as appropriate. This role is part of a 24-bed unit at UAB St. Vincent's East in Trussville, offering full-time shifts from 7a to 7p or 7p to 7a. The position requires an Alabama-licensed RN with current BLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted certification for BLS
