Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols for post-operative bariatric patients. Implement and monitor patient care plans, record patient conditions, and communicate status to the healthcare team. Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders while assessing and coordinating discharge planning needs with team members. This 24-bed unit focuses on patients following Gastric Bypass and Sleeve Gastrectomy procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted certification for BLS
