Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care for post-operative bariatric patients, including gastric bypass and sleeve gastrectomy. Implement and monitor patient care plans while assessing and coordinating discharge planning needs with the healthcare team. Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols. The 24-bed unit focuses on weight loss surgery patients. Full-time shifts include days (7a to 7p) and nights (7p to 7a).
Required Qualifications
- Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted certification for BLS
