Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care for post-operative bariatric patients, including Gastric Bypass and Sleeve Gastrectomy, in accordance with established policies. Implement and monitor individualized care plans while assessing and coordinating discharge planning needs with the healthcare team. Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders, monitoring and recording patient conditions as appropriate. Work full-time days (7a to 7p) or nights (7p to 7a) in a 24-bed unit at UAB St. Vincent's East, Trussville.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing
