Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care for post-operative bariatric patients in the 24-bed 6 West Med Surg unit, implementing and monitoring individual care plans while communicating patient conditions. Serve as the primary coordinator for all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated care, noting and carrying out physician and nursing orders. Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with the healthcare team. This role supports the unit's focus on gastric bypass and sleeve gastrectomy recovery within UAB St. Vincent's East.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing
