RN - Registered Nurse - Post Surgical Med Surg

Provide direct nursing care for post-operative bariatric patients, including Gastric Bypass and Sleeve Gastrectomy, in accordance with established policies and protocols. Implement and monitor patient care plans while assessing and coordinating discharge planning needs with the healthcare team. Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care and communicate patient conditions as appropriate. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. Work full-time days from 7a to 7p or nights from 7p to 7a in the 24-bed 6 West Post-Operative Bariatric unit at UAB St. Vincent's East. Maintain BLS certification within 30 days of hire and hold current Alabama RN licensure.
