Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care for post-operative bariatric patients, including Gastric Bypass and Sleeve Gastrectomy, while implementing and monitoring individualized care plans. Coordinate all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care, carry out physician and nursing orders, and assess discharge planning needs with the healthcare team. Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions as appropriate. Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines. Work full-time days (7a to 7p) or nights (7p to 7a) in a 24-bed unit at UAB St. Vincent's East. Maintain current BLS certification and Alabama RN licensure.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing
