Job Summary
Direct and monitor the personal care duties and nursing care procedures carried out by Nursing Assistants on the assigned team. Assist Nursing Assistants with direct resident care as necessary, report unusual symptoms, changes in condition, and daily needs to the Unit Manager, Assistant Unit Manager, or Charge RN Supervisor. Follow the Plan of Care for each resident, monitor Nursing Assistants' implementation of the care plan, and document all applicable information in care plans, Nursing Notes, and Medical Administration Records. Receive controlled substances from the shift Supervisory Nurse and manage all aspects of their storage and distribution, ensuring proper placement in medication carts, stock cupboards, refrigerators, and narcotic cabinets. Monitor resident care standards during performance of duties and ensure residents' rights and preferences in care and treatment are respected.
Required Qualifications
- Credentials as a Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with a current State license
- Ability to supervise and work well with other personnel
- Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing
- Qualities of maturity, diplomacy, and ability to work well with others
- Caring, respectful attitude towards residents
- Physical stamina for constant activity
- Ability to perform tasks to established standards of excellence
- Demonstrated willingness to uphold the vision and mission of the company by following the core values of Integrity, Teamwork, and Passion for Excellence and Reverence for the Individual
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level
