Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols. Implement and monitor patient care plans while assessing and coordinating discharge planning needs with the healthcare team. Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders, monitoring, recording, and communicating patient conditions as appropriate. Work full-time nights from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. in the 22-bed 5 East Oncology unit at UAB St. Vincent's, which also manages medical-surgical patients and performs procedures like biopsies and cholecystectomies.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted certification for BLS
- Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing program
- Professional licensure at time of hire
