Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols. Implement and monitor patient care plans while assessing and coordinating discharge planning needs with the healthcare team. Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders, monitoring and recording patient conditions as appropriate. This 22-bed oncology unit also manages medical-surgical patients with conditions ranging from pneumonia to CHF, supporting procedures such as biopsies and cholecystectomies. Full-time night shift coverage from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. is required.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted certification for BLS
- Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing program
- Professional licensure at time of hire
