Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols. Implement and monitor patient care plans while assessing and coordinating discharge planning needs with the healthcare team. Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders, monitoring and recording patient conditions as appropriate. 5 East Oncology is a 22-bed unit specializing in cancer care, also treating medical-surgical patients with conditions ranging from pneumonia to CHF. Common procedures include biopsies, EGDs, lithotripsy, and cholecystectomies. This role requires a Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse with BLS certification. Full-time night shifts run from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. at UAB St. Vincent's East.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted certification for BLS
- Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing program
- Professional licensure at time of hire
