Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols for patients with cancer or medical-surgical conditions. Implement and monitor patient care plans while assessing and coordinating discharge planning needs with the healthcare team. Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders, monitoring and recording patient conditions as appropriate. This 22-bed unit specializes in oncology but also treats patients with pneumonia, COPD, CHF, and diabetes. Full-time night shift coverage from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. is required.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted certification for BLS
- Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing program
- Professional licensure at time of hire
