Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols for patients with cardiac, respiratory, and complex medical conditions on the MICU Stepdown Unit. Implement and monitor patient care plans while assessing and coordinating discharge planning needs with the healthcare team. Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated care, noting and carrying out physician and nursing orders. Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Alabama Board of Nursing is required, with BLS certification obtained within 30 days of hire. Full-time nights, days, or weekend shifts are available at UAB St. Vincent's East in Trussville.
Required Qualifications
- Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted certification for BLS
