Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols for adult and geriatric patients with complex medical needs. Implement and monitor patient care plans while assessing and coordinating discharge planning needs with the healthcare team. Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders, monitoring, recording, and communicating patient conditions as appropriate. Work full-time nights (7pm-7am) in our 12-bed MICU at UAB St. Vincent's East, where a dedicated intensivist team fosters a collaborative spirit among over 4,800 employees.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing
- Required professional licensure at time of hire
