Job Summary
RN - Registered Nurse on 5 West Med Surg unit (19-bed) providing direct nursing care, implementing and monitoring care plans, coordinating with multidisciplinary team, noting and carrying out physician/nursing orders, and assessing discharge planning needs. Responsibilities occur across multiple shifts (Full Time Days 7a-7p and Full Time Nights 7p-7a) at UAB St. Vincent's East, focusing on a range of general medical/surgical diagnoses and procedures (pneumonia, COPD, CHF, diabetes; EGD, lithotripsy, PEG tube placement, cholecystectomy) with emphasis on patient condition monitoring and coordinated care.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Provider within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date
- Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire
