Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols for patients with diagnoses ranging from pneumonia and COPD to CHF and diabetes. Implement and monitor patient care plans while serving as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated care. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders, assess patient needs, and coordinate discharge planning with the healthcare team. This 19-bed unit supports common surgical procedures including EGDs, lithotripsy, PEG tube placement, and cholecystectomies. Full-time night shifts run from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing
