RN - Registered Nurse - Med Surg

Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols. Implement and monitor patient care plans while assessing and coordinating discharge planning needs with the healthcare team. Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. Monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions as appropriate. 5West Med Surg is a 19-bed unit caring for patients with diagnoses ranging from pneumonia and COPD to CHF and diabetes, with common surgical procedures including EGDs, lithotripsy, PEG tube placement, and cholecystectomies. Full-time night shifts run from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
