RN - Registered Nurse - Med Surg

Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols for general medical/surgical patients. Implement and monitor patient care plans while assessing and coordinating discharge planning needs with the healthcare team. Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders, monitoring and recording patient conditions as appropriate. This 19-bed unit manages diagnoses ranging from pneumonia and COPD to CHF and diabetes, with common surgical procedures including EGDs, lithotripsy, PEG tube placement, and cholecystectomies. Full-time night shifts run from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
