RN - Registered Nurse - Med Surg

Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols for a 19-bed medical/surgical unit. Implement and monitor patient care plans while assessing and coordinating discharge planning needs with the healthcare team. Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders, monitoring and recording patient conditions as appropriate. Manage care for patients with diagnoses ranging from pneumonia and COPD to CHF and diabetes, including those undergoing procedures such as EGDs, lithotripsy, PEG tube placement, and cholecystectomies. Work full-time nights (7p to 7a) at UAB St. Vincent's East.
