Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols. Implement and monitor patient care plans while recording and communicating patient conditions. Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. This 30-bed medical and surgical stepdown unit at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham offers a supportive, teaching-focused setting ideal for advancing clinical expertise. Full-time shifts include days, nights, and weekend options.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing
- Required professional licensure at time of hire
