Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols. Implement and monitor patient care plans while assessing and coordinating discharge planning needs with the healthcare team. Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate. This Med Surg role offers multiple shift options including full-time nights, weekend days, or every weekend nights at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham. Candidates must hold an accredited nursing diploma, current Alabama RN licensure, and obtain BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted certification
- Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing
- professional licensure at time of hire
