Job Summary

Utilize the nursing process to care for and counsel individuals regarding health promotion, illness prevention, and injury mitigation. Apply a systematic critical-thinking approach to guide data gathering, assessment, nursing judgment, intervention, and evaluation of human responses to actual and potential health problems. Deliver patient care in collaboration with the patient, family, and the broader health care team, including physicians, psychologists, podiatrists, and dentists. Delegate, coordinate, and manage all aspects of nursing care provided to patients, families, and the community in a timely and cost-effective manner. Identify patient needs using the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) Synergy Model. Shifts include full-time AM and PM rotations from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. or 7 p.m.-7 a.m. A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred, though a graduate of an accredited Nursing program is required. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the Alabama Board of Nursing is mandatory, along with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing program
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing
  • Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
