Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide individualized care, coordinate resident assessments, and implement preventative measures, diagnosis, and treatment for seniors. Collaborate with interdisciplinary colleagues, residents, and families to plan and evaluate care plans while maintaining competency within the full scope of nursing practice. Delegate tasks to licensed and unlicensed personnel as a charge nurse when serving in that capacity, ensuring safe administration of care. Maintain unencumbered RN licensure and complete required departmental certifications. Work full-time 36-hour day shifts with a 12-hour rotation at the GSS SD Desmet Ctr in De Smet, SD.
Required Qualifications
- Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state
- Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred, including, but not limited to, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA)
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing preferred
