Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide individualized care, coordinate resident assessment, and implement interventions across all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment. Collaborate with residents, families, and interdisciplinary colleagues to plan and evaluate care while serving as charge nurse to delegate tasks to licensed and unlicensed personnel. Maintain competency within the full scope of nursing practice and adhere to the Nurse Practice Act and American Nurses Association standards. This full-time role at GSS SD Desmet Ctr in De Smet, SD, involves 12-hour day shifts totaling 36 weekly hours. The organization offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus and a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance.
Required Qualifications
- Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state
- Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred, including, but not limited to, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA)
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing preferred
