Job Summary
Administer patient care in an inpatient setting for patients with advanced illness or injury requiring complex assessment, high-intensity interventions, and continuous nursing vigilance. Monitor and adjust specialized equipment such as cardiac monitors, respirators, and ventilators; interpret electronic displays for intracranial and central venous pressures. Respond to life-saving situations based on nursing standards and protocol while assessing patient needs to develop individualized plans of care. Document patient care including medication administration, treatments, and patient safety in a manner meeting regulatory standards. Collaborate with medical staff and interdisciplinary teams to plan and manage the unit. Serve as a preceptor, charge nurse, unit educator, and nurse clinician. Maintain reasonable attendance consistent with hospital policies and participate in unit-level committees and peer reviews.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing
- Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Orlando Health and unit/department
- Maintains current State of Alabama RN license
- Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification
- ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC are required for certain areas
- 1 year experience required unless approved by AVP level or above
