Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care in the Emergency Department by implementing and monitoring patient care plans while assessing and coordinating discharge planning needs. Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care, noting and carrying out physician and nursing orders. Maintain accurate records and communicate patient conditions as appropriate. Requires BLS, AALS, and PALS certifications within specified timelines, with a minimum of one year of critical care or emergency experience. Full-time day shift (7a-7p) or PRN rotating options available at UAB St. Vincent's in Birmingham, Alabama.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- PALS Provider obtained within 6 months of hire date or job transfer date
- Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing
- professional licensure at time of hire
- minimum of one (1) year of critical care or emergency experience
