Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care in the Emergency Department while implementing and monitoring patient care plans. Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care, noting and carrying out physician and nursing orders. Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. Maintain licensure and certifications including BLS, ACLS, and PALS. This role supports UAB St. Vincent's mission of extending personalized care to patients and families across Alabama.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- PALS Provider obtained within 6 months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing
- professional licensure at time of hire
- minimum of one (1) year of critical care or emergency experience
