Job Summary
RN Registered Nurse for Denver CARES at a 24/7 free-standing detox facility. The RN provides integrated behavioral and medical care to patients withdrawing from substances, including patient intakes, screenings, medication administration, crisis management, care planning, and clinical documentation. Requires therapeutic communication, verbal de-escalation, and knowledge of Withdrawal Management and Services statutes. Works within a team, performing autonomous clinical decision-making and collaborating with a diverse health-care team to promote safety and quality outcomes. Eligible applicants possess an Associate’s Degree in Nursing, a Colorado RN license, and BLS certification, with 1–3 years of direct patient care experience (mental health/substance use experience preferred). Shift is part-time (0.6 FTE) with competitive benefits and opportunities for growth within Denver Health.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or equivalent
- RN license (Colorado) - DORA
- BLS Certification (AHA)
- 1-3 years direct patient care experience; preferably in mental health/substance use disorder
- Experience with integrated medical and behavioral health care is a plus
- Knowledge of SEWS, COWS, and OMAT
- Ability to perform patient intakes, screenings, and develop care plans
- Strong therapeutic communication and crisis de-escalation skills
- Ability to document accurately and adhere to ANA standards
- Shift flexibility; 0.6 FTE (part-time)
