Job Summary
Deliver professional nursing care in the operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures. Perform scrub and circulating functions, including instrument selection, handling, monitoring patient condition, and managing overall care before, during, and after procedures. Directly assist operating physicians with surgical tasks such as hemostasis, suturing, wound exposure, and patient positioning. Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use. Full-time days schedule at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham. Requires BLS within 30 days and ACLS within 180 days, plus Alabama RN licensure.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing
- professional licensure at time of hire
