Job Summary
Deliver professional nursing care in the operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or invasive procedures. Perform scrub functions including selection and handling of instruments and supplies, and execute circulating functions such as monitoring, recording, and communicating patient condition while managing overall care before, during, and after procedures. Directly assist the operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing, wound exposure, and patient positioning. Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use. Requires BLS and Advanced Life Support certifications, Alabama RN licensure, and a nursing diploma.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing
- professional licensure at time of hire
