Job Summary
Provide direct nursing care in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit for post-operative patients recovering from coronary artery bypass grafting and complex cardiovascular surgeries. Implement and monitor patient care plans while assessing and coordinating discharge planning needs with the healthcare team. Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders, utilizing advanced cardiac support devices and hemodynamic monitoring. Work multiple shifts including full-time nights, three 12-hour shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am.
Required Qualifications
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date
- Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing
- Required professional licensure at time of hire
