Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide individualized care, coordinate resident assessments, and implement treatment plans for all phases of health maintenance and diagnosis. Collaborate with interdisciplinary colleagues and families to evaluate outcomes and educate residents on care needs. Serve as charge nurse when assigned, delegating tasks to licensed and unlicensed personnel within their scope of competence. Maintain competency in state regulations and age-specific standards while ensuring safe administration of resident care.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a Licensed RN in Minnesota
- Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring
- Possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state
- Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications
- Must be available for Every Other Weekend and Rotating Holidays
- Must be available for Night Shifts (4:00pm to 4:30am)
- Must be available for 12 Hours shifts
- Must be available for Full time employment
- Must be available for 36.00 Weekly Hours
- Must be available for 72 Hours a bi-weekly pay period
- Must be able to utilize the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation and evaluation)
- Must be able to collaborate with resident and family, other inter-disciplinary colleagues, including providers
- Must be able to plan, implement and evaluate care
- Must be able to demonstrate competency and practice within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge
- Must be able to utilize appropriate age and population specific standards as designated in their assigned clinical setting
- Must be able to care for residents in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment
- Must be able to coordinate care
- Must be able to perform resident assessment
- Must be able to perform resident education
- Must be able to perform various other nursing interventions
- Must be able to serve as charge nurse
- Must be able to delegate appropriate tasks to license and unlicensed assistive personnel
- Must be able to provide adequate assistance and support to delegates
- Must be able to ensure safe, reliable administration of resident care
- Must be able to resolve care and service concerns
- Must be able to function within the scopes and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules in state of practice and licensure
- Must be able to recognize the Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements as published by the American Nurses Association
- Must be able to comply with Good Samaritan's Drug Free Workplace Policy
- Must be able to pass a drug screen
- Must be able to pass pre-employment background screening
Desired Qualifications
- Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program, including, but not limited to, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA)
- Bachelor's Degree in nursing
