Job Summary
Ambulatory RN position performing nursing assessments, planning, implementation and evaluation for individuals, families, and communities within the RN scope of practice. Responsible for documentation, health education, acting as preceptor, supporting staff development, leading quality-improvement initiatives, assisting with standing orders, triaging patient calls, scheduling, and mentoring MA/CMA staff. Requires licensure as an Illinois RN and related certifications; duties include patient education, prior authorizations, and collaboration with the Nursing Supervisor and care team. Required Qualifications
- Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois (IDFPR)
- RN licensure
- Diploma or GED
- Excellent verbal & written communication
- Assists Nursing Supervisor/coordinator in the development of departmental standing orders
- Provides leadership for initiatives to improve quality of care or outcomes
- Triage incoming patient calls/messages
- Obtain prior authorizations for patient visits, medications and referrals
- Schedule appointments
- Mentor/support staff (MA & CMA)
- Participate in process improvement committees
