Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for adult and geriatric patients across multiple facilities in the St. Louis region. Report to assigned Mercy hospitals including Mercy St. Louis, Jefferson, South, Washington, Lincoln, Perry, Southeast, and Stoddard, with specific units ranging from Orthopedics and Trauma to CVICU and Burn ICU. Collaborate with diverse care teams while maintaining current RN licensure and required certifications such as BLS, ACLS, or PALS depending on specialty. Perform patient assessments, turning, and lifting up to 50 pounds while working nights, weekends, and evenings with shift differentials. Minimum of one year of bedside Med/Surg experience required, or two years for critical care specialties.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
- Current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure meeting all state board of nursing requirements
- One year of recent bed-side RN experience to work Med Surg
- Minimum of two years of recent bed-side RN experience for all other specialties (ICU, etc.)
- BLS certification for Med Surg and Behavioral Health
- BLS and ACLS certifications for Critical Care (CC)
- Ability to stand/walk most of the time on duty
- Ability to perform significant bending and stooping
- Ability to lift and turn patients with assistance
- Ability to push/pull/grip up to 50 pounds
- Must be available for regional float pool assignments across Mercy facilities in the St. Louis region
- Must be available for night shifts
- Must be available for weekend shifts
