Job Summary
Educate patients on the radiation therapy process, procedures, and simulation experience, while discussing treatment modalities, skin care, side effects, and pain management. Assist physicians with patient examinations, weekly status checks, and follow-up visits. Provide nursing care as prescribed, including administering medications, dressing changes, wound care, suctioning, glucose monitoring, and oxygen saturation checks. Monitor patient problems, develop care plans, and evaluate intervention effectiveness throughout treatment and follow-up. Work Monday through Friday from 8:00 to 4:30 in the Radiation Therapy department at The Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute.
Required Qualifications
- Current Connecticut RN License
- BSN
Desired Qualifications
- Two (2) years of Previous Oncology Nursing experience
