Job Summary
Develop a plan of care identifying interventions to achieve expected outcomes for higher acuity patients. Provide patient assessment, collect health data, and communicate plans to physicians and interdisciplinary teams. Individualize teaching on disease management, emergency care, and drug information based on patient cultural background and learning needs. Assist technical staff with contrast injections, venipuncture, IV management, and oxygen therapy. Participate in performance improvement activities, nursing research, and daily rounds for wound/ostomy/skin care patients. Nurture a compassionate environment by providing psychological support and contributing to the professional development of peers and students.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree or higher in Nursing
- If Associate Degree in Nursing is the highest degree held, must graduate with a Bachelor?s Degree in Nursing within five years of position start date (effective September 1, 2021)
- Current incumbents with an RN Diploma are grandfathered
- RN Diploma Nurse if position start date is prior to September 1, 2021
- Active Illinois State Nursing License
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association within 6 months of start date
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - National CPR Foundation (NCPRF)
- Current CPR Certification issues by the American Heart Association
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Nursing
- 1 year of inpatient nursing experience
